Nesseby Arctic Norway

The journey here yesterday was quite uneventful. The second plane was half an hour late which meant we did not arrive in Nesseby until 10.30pm. On arrival it was pouring down and it was still the same when we got up this morning. Fortunately we have plenty to do, sorting nets, poles, rings and setting up the ringing station. I think if it was nice we would have been straining at the leash to get out there to ring. Colin gave me and the rest of the team a drive round the area, we did a shop and we are now nearly ready to start.

The hire vehicle we have is interesting the company is called "Hire A Wreck". They are old high mileage vehicles but well serviced, apparently. Anyway it does the job.

The house behind the van is Kates house and it is where we are staying. She is vacating her house for the duration of our visit.

A few birds from this morning. This bar Tailed Godwit showing just a part of the white on upper part of the tail an rump.
